Trade Ideas is the Tapeboard community feed for posted trade theses — symbol, direction, entry/target/stop, timeframe, tags — with filters by ticker and direction, likes, and threaded comments.

Trade Ideas is the public room. Drop a thesis with a symbol, a direction, an entry, a target, a stop, and a timeframe. Read what other operators are watching. Like the ones you'd take, ignore the ones you wouldn't, comment when you've got a counterpoint. Read-only is free; posting requires an authed account.

The idea feed — shared and saved trade ideas with thesis, direction, and tracking

What it is

A reverse-chronological social feed of posted trade ideas, each stamped with its author. Every idea carries a symbol, a direction, a thesis, optional entry/target/stop prices, a timeframe, and tags — a structured trade card, not a tweet. Your likes and comments are saved to your account, and liking or unliking the same idea more than once is a no-op. The feed loads newest-first, 20 ideas at a time.

When to use it

Post when you've taken a position you can defend in three sentences and want a record outside your own journal. Browse when you want a sanity check on the names you're already watching, or when the scanner's quiet and you want to see what other traders are pricing in. Don't use it as a signal service — the ideas feed is conversation, not consensus.

How to use it

Open /ideas. The feed loads newest-first. The header shows the Trade Ideas title and a + New Idea button.
Filter by symbol with the input — typing AAPL narrows the feed to AAPL ideas. Filter by direction with the All / Long / Short / Neutral chips. The filters combine, so you can scope to, say, long AAPL ideas at once.
Click + New Idea to open the post dialog. Required: symbol, direction, and thesis. Optional: entry price, target price, stop price, timeframe (defaults to swing), and tags. Submit and the new card is prepended to the feed.
On any card, the heart icon toggles your like. The count updates immediately and unliking floors back at zero.
Click into a card to expand comments and add a reply. Comments are flat (no nesting), shown oldest-first, each stamped with its author.
Your own ideas appear in the feed mixed with everyone else's. You can delete your own ideas; you can't delete anyone else's.

Limits

Posting requires you to be signed in
No rate limit on idea creation as of 2026-05-17; spam mitigation is on the roadmap
Each like is unique per idea — clicking like twice is a no-op
The feed loads 20 ideas at a time
Comments are flat — no threading, no editing, no deleting yet
The feature is shipped but new: as of 2026-05-17 the feed is empty. You will likely be among the first to post — don't expect a populated feed yet
No moderation surface yet: there's no flag/report flow, no takedown control, and no profanity filter. If the feed grows beyond a handful of users this becomes a roadmap item
No notification yet when someone likes or comments on your idea

Troubleshooting

I posted an idea but it didn't appear in the feed. If the page didn't update, the post didn't go through. Most often your session expired — sign in again — or you missed one of the three required fields (symbol, direction, thesis). If everything's filled in, wait a moment and try again.

I can't like or comment. You need to be signed in. Liking and commenting require an account. Sign in via the top-right user menu and retry.

The feed shows "No trade ideas yet." Two cases: (1) no ideas match your filter combination — broaden by clearing the symbol and direction filters; (2) the feed is still empty (the feature is new — see Limits).

Deleted an idea but it still shows. Refresh the page to re-fetch the feed. You can only delete your own ideas — anyone else's stays put.
