Tapeboard Charts: 9 chart types, 23 drawing tools (magnet snaps, favorites, per-symbol persistence), 83 indicators with full parameter editor + custom formulas, an 84-pattern auto-detector, split/dividend events, a crosshair Data Window, an Object Tree, and Pro multi-chart 2/4-pane linked layouts.

Tapeboard's chart is a full workstation — not a preview pane. Nine chart types, a 23-tool drawing engine, 83 indicators with editable parameters plus your own formulas, an 84-pattern auto-detector, split/dividend markers, and — on Pro — side-by-side panes with symbol linking. Drawings save per symbol and follow you across devices.

The same engine sits behind the scanner row detail, the research page, and the simulator — learning one surface covers all of them.

Chart types (9)

Bottom-left switcher or right-click → Chart type: Candles (default), Heikin Ashi, Bars, Line, Area, Baseline, plus three *synthetic* types striped of time — Renko, Range, Line Break (size auto-set from ATR(14)). On synthetic types every overlay computes against the synthetic bars; VWAP is suppressed because the time axis isn't uniform.

Drawing tools (23)

Click DRAW, then pick from five groups. Star any tool to pin it to the favorites row; toggle MAGNET to snap anchors to candle O/H/L/C.

Persistence. Drawings save per ticker and sync to your account; clearing or hiding is per-object via the Object Tree. CLEAR ALL (N) appears with a dropdown so you can wipe just horizontal lines, just Fibs, etc.

Indicators (83)

INDICATORS panel: search, add, edit any parameter (live recompute), recolor any line, save the whole template set and re-apply it to any ticker.
Custom formula — write a Pine-lite expression over OHLCV (e.g. ema(close,9) - ema(close,21)); green-check validation before it plots.
Community Equivalents section: TTM Squeeze, Wave Trend, Connors RSI, Elder Impulse, ALMA, KAMA, ZLEMA… plus a dozen single-line academic-momentum factors (Price Momentum 10D, Up-Day Ratio, Day-Range Position…). Each row states its formula and how to read it.
Free ships SMA, EMA, BB, VWAP, RSI, MACD, Stoch, ATR, Volume, OBV, Ichimoku, ADX — everything past that is Pro.

Patterns (84)

Toggle PATTERNS and the chart scans the visible bars: candlestick singles & multi-bars, chart structure (H&S, double tops, triangles, flags, cup & handle, rectangles, wedges), RSI/MACD divergences, Velez setups, volume events, and the harmonic set (Gartley/Butterfly/Bat/Crab, ±5% ratio tolerance). The Detected tab lists them newest-first with a confidence rating (high/medium/low); hover a row to preview, click to pin the shape — structural patterns draw the actual zig-zag through the swing pivots.

Events

EVENTS toggles split/dividend markers onto candles; the caret opens a dated list with those plus recent EPS rows.

Data window + Object tree

Right-click → Data Window: a floating mono panel that reads the crosshair bar — time, OHLC, change, volume, and every active indicator's value at that bar, updating bar-by-bar as you move.

Object Tree: every drawing listed with an eye/lock/color/delete — the manage view for busy charts.

Multi-pane layouts (Pro)

/charts offers 1 / 2 / 4 panes. Each pane gets its own symbol, interval, indicators, and price scale; they can share the primary's indicator set until you override one. Link colors sync symbols across same-colored panes (scan a row, linked panes all follow). Layouts save to your account and survive reloads.

The full menu: Add alert at price, add horizontal ray, copy price, reset view, Volume Profile, Data Window, Bar Replay (step forward at 0.5×/1×/3×/10×), share link, save the branded chart PNG, and the chart-type/scale submenus. Right-click a drawing for object-level actions (color, lock, bring to front, alert at this level).

Troubleshooting

"No data available." That interval has no bars in the window — lengthen the timeframe, or enable extended hours.
A pattern count won't stay put. It recalculates as new bars arrive. Normal.
My drawing sits mid-wick. Magnet off — flip MAGNET on and anchors snap to candles.
Bricks look weird on Renko. Size is ATR-derived; different interval → different bricks.
Panes missing. 2/4-pane layouts are Pro.
