Tapeboard Manual

Tapeboard is a brutalist market terminal — sidebar on the left, mono UI, every surface reachable in two keystrokes or one click. The §TRADE group up top holds the free Simulator and Journal.

Tapeboard ships three tiers — Free, Pro at $39/mo ($290/yr, about $24/mo billed annually), and Terminal at $79/mo ($63/mo annual). Pro unlocks Options Flow, Gamma Exposure, Level 2 + time & sales VIEWING, the journal AI coach, journal CSV import, all simulator order types, scanner presets, and indicators. Terminal adds executing against the L2 walk-book in the simulator, CSV/JSON bulk export, the natural-language scanner, and AI Q&A in the command bar.

AI History is the persistent record of every AI output Tapeboard generated for your account — briefings, recaps, filing summaries, trade setups, portfolio health — saved to your account, filterable by feature and ticker, re-readable without burning another credit.

Tapeboard Alerts fires on price, percent, volume, VIX, and volume-spike triggers across any ticker, with in-app, desktop, sound, and email channels gated by tier.

Backtest runs four pre-built single-symbol strategies — RSI Crossover, MA Crossover, MACD Signal, Bollinger Breakout — against daily historical data with configurable parameters, returning total return, Sharpe, max drawdown, win rate, trade log, and an equity curve vs. buy-and-hold.

Bonds renders the nine-point Treasury yield curve with month-ago / year-ago overlays, all UST tenors from 1M to 30Y as cards, key spread tiles (2s10s, 10Y-3M, TED), real-yield TIPS, plus a recession panel composited from rates and macro inputs.

The Borrow Fee Ranking surfaces US equities with the highest published borrow-fee rates today — the cost-of-short-carry tell. A 100% annualized borrow-fee means shorts pay the full short-value every year just to hold the position; these are the hard-to-borrow names where the squeeze risk concentrates.

Calendar surfaces four event streams — earnings, IPOs, economic releases, dividends — in a weekly view or monthly grid. The weekly view now lists the actual earnings companies inside each weekday card, bucketed Before Open / After Close with ticker, company name, and logo, instead of just a count. Keyboard navigation, importance dots, and a tier-gated AI Earnings Preview round it out.

Tapeboard Charts is a full charting workstation: 9 chart types (candles, Heikin Ashi, bars, line, area, baseline, Renko, Range, Line Break), 19 drawing tools across five category groups with magnet snapping and per-symbol persistence, 83 indicators (including a 28-strong Community Equivalents group) with multi-param config, custom Pine-lite formulas, saveable templates, an 84-pattern auto-detector, split/dividend/earnings events, a crosshair Data Window, an Object Tree, and Pro multi-chart 1/2/4-pane layouts with color-linked panels.

Commodities surfaces 14 instruments across precious metals, energy, industrial metals, and agriculture — precious metals via ETF proxies (GLD, SLV, PPLT, PALL), all others via official daily price series — plus macro-context tiles and a category performance table.

Correlation Matrix computes the pairwise Pearson correlation of daily returns across up to ten tickers over a 30/90/180/365-day window, color-coded for diversification and pair-trade work.

Crypto Terminal streams ten default USDT pairs with a live order book, depth chart, trades feed, candle chart, plus trending coins, fear & greed, global market stats, and public-company BTC/ETH treasury holdings.

The Dashboard is Tapeboard's authenticated home — a one-screen market briefing: a live index/crypto/FX ticker bar across the top, a type-and-go symbol command bar, then panels for movers, session-aware gaps, sector performance, a cap-weighted mini-heatmap, the CNN Fear & Greed gauge, market breadth, your watchlist movers and earnings, breaking news, the economic calendar, and world markets — every panel refreshable from one keystroke.

Economic surfaces 25+ official macro series across five categories — rates, inflation, growth, consumer, liquidity — with a 9-point yield curve, recession dashboard, and a tier-gated AI economic outlook.

The Filing of the Day is Tapeboard's curated single-selection of the one SEC filing from the last 24 hours that most deserves your attention. Surfaced from a composite of materiality, news-co-occurrence, and market cap weighted by where the form is filed (10-K, 8-K with MA, S-1) — the one you'd want to read first if you only had ten minutes.

Forex Terminal streams seven major USD pairs live, four crosses and five emerging-market pairs as computed cross-rates, plus session indicator, pivot points, FX drivers panel, and a candle chart per selected pair.

Fundamentals is the financials, ratios, estimates, and peer-comp surface inside the Research dossier — full income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow on quarterly or annual cadence, plus a metrics grid covering valuation, profitability, leverage, and liquidity ratios.

Gamma Exposure plots dealer net gamma positioning by strike for any liquid US underlying, surfacing the zero-gamma flip level, max-pain strike, and the long-vs-short-gamma regime that governs intraday volatility.

Tapeboard's S&P 500 cap-weighted heatmap with live prices and historical period closes. Pick a time range — Today, 1W, 1M, 3M, 6M, YTD, or 1Y — and the grid colours by that period's % change. Tickers are grouped by GICS sector and sub-grouped by industry, with a hover tooltip and sector drill-down to the top movers inside each cell.

Idea Tracker logs trade ideas with entry, target, and stop levels — tracks live P&L from idea date, auto-flags hits and stops, computes win rate and expectancy across closed ideas, and one-click shares to the social feed.

Import your Interactive Brokers trade history into the Tapeboard journal using an IBKR Flex Query CSV — the same export Tradervue uses. Equities are paired into round-trip trades automatically with commissions, entry/exit prices, and timestamps.

Insider Activity is Tapeboard's Form 4 surface — search any ticker for its officer and director transactions, with a monthly buy-vs-sell sentiment chart and a per-trade table that deep-links to the source SEC filing.

Insider Screener ranks the largest recent Form 4 transactions across the US market, filterable by dollar value and direction — the cross-market view to the per-ticker insider tab on /research.

Market Breadth reads the advance-decline split, the up/down volume split, and the 52-week new highs and new lows across a ~100-name large-cap universe — a session-level pulse for whether the tape is broadly green or carried by a few names.

The Morning Tape is Tapeboard's curated pre-open dashboard — a single-shot, AI-summarized pane covering overnight news, pre-market movers, the S&P futures tape, key economic releases for the day ahead, and the top squeeze candidates. Lands live at 5 AM ET daily during the trading week — a 90-second skim before the open.

Movers is Tapeboard's public, session-aware list of biggest market movers across ten categories — gainers, losers, most-active, premarket, after-hours, overnight Blue Ocean, crypto, 52-week highs, 52-week lows, and unusual volume — with a daily archive going back as far as the snapshot cron has run, plus an AI: Break It Down button on every row for a compliant read of what's moving each name.

News is Tapeboard's breaking-news terminal — a live feed from major wires and financial press with source-category filters, ticker filtering, AI digest on Pro, real-time push for paid users, a free Audio headlines toggle that reads new breaking headlines aloud through your browser, and desktop notifications on high-impact headlines.

The Notifications inbox is the unified feed of alert triggers, scanner hits, simulator fills, economic releases, and options-flow detections — filterable by kind, unread-tracked, server-side retained until you clear them.

The Options surface is the full chain for any US underlying — calls and puts side-by-side with strike, bid/ask/last, volume, OI, IV, and percent change — plus a multi-leg strategy builder with 8 preset structures, a P&L-at-expiration payoff diagram with break-evens and Greeks, and a chain-level analytics panel (ATM/avg IV, put/call gauges, and a volatility smile). Free for everyone; do not confuse it with Options Flow (sweep detection, Pro).

Options Flow surfaces unusual options activity — contracts where volume runs more than 2.5× open interest — across the US options market over a rolling 24-hour window.

The Reg-SHO Threshold List shows every ticker currently on the SEC's threshold securities list — names where fails-to-deliver have exceeded 0.5% of shares outstanding for five consecutive settlement days. A historically strong tell that the short trade is getting over-extended.

Research is Tapeboard's per-ticker dossier at /research/<TICKER> — a price header, chart, and eight tabs (Overview, Financials, Estimates, Insider Activity, SEC Filings, Peers, News, AI Briefing) that stack fundamentals, short-squeeze score, dividend and split history, analyst flow, an AI: Break It Down masthead button, and an AI brief onto one symbol-keyed page.

The Tapeboard Scanner is a real-time, multi-panel stock scanner with 44 presets across six categories, natural-language filters, advanced filter chaining (including short-interest, borrow-fee, and squeeze-score minimums), session-aware auto-rotating layouts, a 500-symbol streaming universe, a workspace of addable cockpit panels — Level 2 order book, time & sales, depth chart, quote, live positions, and a live alert feed — plus the sign-in-required Squeeze Leaderboard with its Squeeze Alerts strip.

SEC Filings is Tapeboard's EDGAR surface — search any ticker for its 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, S-1, DEF 14A, 13-F, and Form 3/4 history, with AI summaries on Pro+, full-text search on Terminal, and a live cross-market filings feed when no symbol is loaded.

Settings is Tapeboard's account control surface, organized into four tabs — Account, Billing, Alerts, and Preferences — so you jump straight to two-factor auth, plan and billing, alert delivery and quiet hours, or chart/timezone/hotkey preferences without scrolling past everything else.

Move your full trading history from Tradervue to Tapeboard with one CSV — your notes, tags, and setups come with it. Export from Tradervue, import into the Tapeboard journal, and keep every annotation you have written.

Trade Ideas is the Tapeboard community feed for posted trade theses — symbol, direction, entry/target/stop, timeframe, tags — with filters by ticker and direction, likes, and threaded comments.

The Tapeboard Journal is a six-tab trade log — Dashboard, Trade Log, Reports, Calendar, Playbooks, AI Analysis — built on one unified, account-size-agnostic stats engine. It computes a 0-100 Tape Score with an A-F grade, scores rule-defined Playbooks for machine-checkable adherence, auto-logs simulator trades, turns any trade into a privacy-safe share link, and ships 11 analytics reports with free broker CSV import across 10 brokers (plus a generic column-mapping wizard for any other broker and for options trades), a post-import stats summary, and live broker sync.

The Tapeboard Simulator is a full paper-trading desk — scanner, chart, Level 2 montage and time & sales around a real order ticket. Free gives you a $25,000 paper account, market orders and the full 83-indicator charting engine. Every fill runs an always-on realism model (spread, volume-aware slippage, SEC + TAF fees, stop gap-slippage, coherent buying power). Sim Settings' Trade defaults pre-fill the ticket's quantity, order type, TIF, and limit-price source. Tapeboard ships with a full keyboard layer — ⌘K palette, ⌘1–7 menu jumps (including ⌘6 Simulator and ⌘7 Journal), plus per-page bindings on Scanner and Charts so you never reach for the mouse during a session.
