CRSP Short Squeeze Score: 26 / 100

CRSP ranked on Tapeboard's 0-100 short squeeze leaderboard · components disclosed below · methodology fully published · score as of Oct 23, 2026

The number on this page is the score as of Oct 23, 2026, the most recent session when this page was rebuilt. Short interest re-settles every two weeks and CRSP's borrow fee can spike intraday. Tapeboard re-scores CRSP every day after the market close, ranks it against the full live squeeze board, and pairs it with a real-time scanner and watchlist, so you catch the setup changing, not a snapshot. How CRSP got to 26 / 100

Since setup v5 (2026-09-28), a stock is ranked only if its short interest is at least 15% of float. Since setup v6 (2026-10-07), ranked names are scored 0-100 on 20-day volatility with the single largest daily move excluded (60%), 5-day float rotation (20%) and last-session relative volume (20%), each as a percentile among the gated names. A higher score means higher historical odds of a large move in either direction; it is not a directional call. The inputs below (short interest, borrow fee, float utilization, days to cover, momentum, short-volume ratio, fee change) are shown for context at zero weight.

How the score is calculated

Tapeboard's short squeeze score (setup v6) gates on short interest of at least 15% of float (FINRA settlement, point-in-time and split-safe), then ranks by 60% 20-day volatility percentile (single largest daily move excluded) + 20% 5-day float-rotation percentile + 20% last-session relative-volume percentile. Out of sample, the top 10 moved +20% within five sessions about 17% of the time and fell 20% about 12% of the time, against 4.5% and 2.3% for all stocks. Sources: FINRA consolidated short-interest files for short interest, daily bars for volatility and rotation, broker-dealer stock-loan data for borrow fees (context), and FINRA CNMS daily short sale volume files for the heavy-short-volume flag (context; not the Reg SHO threshold list). The full methodology, including the calibrated odds table and known limitations, is published at /methodology/short-squeeze-score.

Frequently asked questions about CRSP squeeze risk

What does a Short Squeeze Score of 26 / 100 mean for CRSP?

A score of 26/100 for CRSP means it is either low on the setup board (quieter than other heavily shorted names) or not ranked at all (short interest below 15% of float, or incomplete data). Low-ranked gated names historically reached +20% within five sessions about 5% of the time, close to the 4.5% base rate for all stocks.

How fresh is the CRSP squeeze data?

The number on this page is the score as of Oct 23, 2026, the most recent session when this page was rebuilt. CRSP's score recomputes once daily after the US market close (typically by 9 PM ET). Volatility and float rotation come from daily price bars; borrow fee and the other context fields refresh daily. Short interest is settled as of Sep 30, 2026 and is held between readings, because FINRA publishes short interest on a settlement schedule, not daily. That is why the SI %Float row above is stamped with its own as-of date. Real-time short interest does not exist publicly in US markets.

Is CRSP on the FINRA threshold list?

Yes, CRSP appears on the current FINRA Threshold Securities List, meaning aggregate failures-to-deliver have exceeded the regulatory threshold for at least five consecutive settlement days. Threshold inclusion is a backward-looking confirmation of covering pressure. See all stocks on the threshold list today.
