Getting Started
Tapeboard is a terminal for retail traders — dark, mono, sidebar nav, one way everywhere: search, scan, chart, journal. This page is the five-minute answer to \"okay, what now?\"
Tapeboard is the terminal for retail day traders. Dark by default, mono type, everything one click or two keys away. The first session loop you'll want to finish: scan → look at a chart → set an alert → take one paper trade. That loop is three minutes if you follow it straight through.
On your first login
- Hit
⌘K, type any ticker. You land on its Research page — what the AI sees, financials, news, insiders. - Open the Scanner (
⌘2). The default preset follows the session — pre-market pane before 9:30am ET, momentum at the open, overnight tape after close. Tap any row; the chart opens inline. - Set an alert on what you liked: from the chart's right-click menu (it lands pre-filled), or manage alerts. You get 3 live rules free.
- Open the Simulator (
⌘6) and close one trade. It logs straight into your Journal (⌘7) — that's the loop this product exists to make tight: practice → review → improve.
You've used the core. What's left is surfaces making you faster.
The layout
Two rules read well on any page:
- Left sidebar / bottom tab-bar on mobile — sections are §MARKETS / §TRADE / §RESEARCH / §MACRO / §TOOLS / §COMMUNITY.
⌘Kpalette anywhere — tickers, page names,>commands.
? opens the keymap. Every page has its own help hint the first time you visit.

Know the limits
- Licking the tape live is regular hours + extended hours only (4am–8pm ET). Overnight the terminal is quiet for prices but scanners still roll.
- Everything here works on desktop; some surfaces are desktop-first by design (Scanner Grid is one — on phones it gets an honest interstitial).
