Keyboard Shortcuts

Tapeboard ships with a full keyboard layer — ⌘K palette, ⌘1–7 menu jumps (including ⌘6 Simulator and ⌘7 Journal), plus per-page bindings on Scanner and Charts so you never reach for the mouse during a session.

Tapeboard ships with a keyboard layer for the heaviest-used surfaces. Sidebar menus take ⌘1⌘7, the command palette is ⌘K, and Scanner + Charts each carry their own per-page bindings. Press ? on any page to summon the inline hotkey help modal.

Scanner

The scanner has two modes — scanner-only (split-view with inline chart) and trading-view (multi-chart workspace). Most bindings work in both.

BindingAction
TabCycle focus between scanner panels

EnterOpen the highlighted ticker in /charts
SpacePause/resume the live feed
Ctrl+1Ctrl+6Focus panel by index

FFullscreen the inline chart
WAdd highlighted ticker to the active watchlist
AOpen AI Analysis on the highlighted ticker
ROpen /research/<ticker>
MMute/unmute scanner audio
CSend selected row to /charts (when a row is highlighted)

In trading-view mode, 1/5/D focus the 1-min, 5-min, and daily chart panels respectively; Tab cycles the scanner mini-panels in that workspace.

Multi-chart layouts (1/2/4 panes) are accessible from the toolbar. Drawings persist per-ticker, per-account — switching the symbol in a panel reloads that ticker's drawing state from local storage.

Command palette (⌘K)

Open with ⌘K. The palette accepts three inputs:

  • TickerNVDA routes to /research/NVDA
  • Page namescanner, gex, alerts, forex, etc. fuzzy-match menu items
  • > command>watch nvda, >chart aapl 5m, >alert tsla > 300 (Terminal tier)

Recent jumps stick to the top of the list. The palette is the fastest path to any ticker — faster than clicking the sidebar.

Limits

  • Number-row timeframe binding (19) only fires when a ticker is selected and the focus is outside an input
  • ⌘K is hijacked by some browser extensions (LastPass, Vimium) — disable on tapeboard.com if the palette won't open
  • Hotkey bindings are customizable in Settings → Hotkeys; the defaults above ship for new accounts
