Anatomy of a candle

Lesson 5 of 15 in Candlesticks. Specialist grade, 180 XP. Free to read, mission runs live in the terminal.

» Each candle has a body (open to close) and wicks (the high/low extremes).

» Green body = closed up. Red body = closed down. Wicks show rejected prices.

» Long wicks = a fight; price went there and got slapped back.

» Pull up SPY and identify the bodies and wicks on a few candles.

Watching a concept is not the same as running it, so every Academy lesson ships with a live mission inside the Tapeboard terminal. This one runs on the live chart (/chart/SPY). Reading is free; running missions takes a free account.
