Data
Is the data real-time or delayed?
Real-time on Pro and during the 7-day trial. Free accounts and signed-out visitors see 15-minute delayed quotes and scanner data. Details are on pricing and in the data sources page.
Where does the data come from?
Tapeboard covers US equities, global level 1 quotes, SEC EDGAR filings, macro data series, crypto market data and forex rates, drawn from market data providers and public sources. How each dataset is built is described on the data sources and methodology pages.
Does Tapeboard work outside the US?
Yes. The equities focus is US markets, but charts and filings work for any US-listed ticker. Crypto and forex are global. The interface is English only for now.
Simulator and journal
Does Tapeboard place live trades?
No. Tapeboard is a research terminal and a paper-trading simulator, not a brokerage, and it does not route live orders.
How does the paper-trading simulator work?
The simulator is free. It fills orders against live market data with realistic spreads, starts with a $25,000 account by default and logs every trade to your journal automatically. Pro adds bracket orders with a stop and a target. See the simulator.
Can I import my real trades into the journal?
Yes, and import is free. Upload a CSV of your trade history from your broker to review real trades next to paper ones. Free accounts see analytics on a sample of the 10 most recent trades; the full set of reports is on Pro. See the journal and the import guide.
Alerts, mobile and billing
How do alerts and push notifications work?
Free accounts get 3 price alerts and Pro gets unlimited custom alerts. Tapeboard also flags trading halts as they post and chimes when trading resumes, see halts. Push notifications are opt-in: turn them on in Settings under Notifications, where you can also set quiet hours.
Does Tapeboard work on my phone?
Yes. The full terminal runs in your phone browser with the scanner as swipeable cards and touch-sized order controls, and you can install it as an app from the browser. No app store is needed. Start with the scanner.
How do I cancel, and what about refunds?
You can cancel from Settings under Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and partial months are not pro-rated. Fees paid are non-refundable except where required by law. The full wording is in the terms.
