SEC filings

Public companies report every material event to the SEC: quarterly numbers, mergers, executive changes, insider trades. The Filings page lists them by company, filters them by form type and opens each one in a reader inside Tapeboard. On Pro, an AI summary tells you what a filing says in a few lines.

How to find a company's latest filings

1. Click Filings in the sidebar.
2. Type a ticker in Enter ticker (e.g. AAPL) and pick it from the list.
3. The company's name, CIK number and links to SEC.gov and its stock page appear, with a timeline of its filings.
4. Below that, the Major Filings table lists each filing with its type, date, period and a short description. Filings from insiders (Form 3 and Form 4) sit in a collapsed Insider Filings group.

Before you search, the page shows Latest SEC Filings, the newest filings across all companies.

How to filter by form type

1. Click a chip above the table: All, 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, DEF 14A, S-1, 13-F, Form 3 or Form 4.
2. The table shows only that form. Click All to reset.

A 10-K is the annual report, a 10-Q the quarterly one, and an 8-K reports a specific event. DEF 14A is the proxy statement, S-1 a new stock offering, and 13-F what a fund holds.

Free accounts see the latest 10 filings for a company, with a note showing how many more exist.

How to read a filing

1. Click the open icon at the end of a row, or the row itself in the Latest SEC Filings list.
2. The filing opens in Tapeboard's reader, so you do not leave the app.
3. Use the link to SEC.gov on the company header if you want the original page.

How to get an AI summary

1. Click the AI button at the end of a row. On a phone, tap the ... button and choose the summary.
2. A panel opens with a summary of that filing.
3. Above the table, the AI bulk summary covers the latest batch of filings for the company.

AI summaries need Pro. Every summary is saved in AI history.

How to share a filing

1. Open a filing's page from Filing of the day or from a shared link.
2. Click Share. The link is copied.
3. Send it. The person who opens it can read the filing and its summary without an account.

Filing of the day

Each day Tapeboard picks one recent filing that looks most worth your time and shows it on its own page.

1. Open /filings/today, or follow a Filing of the day link from a Tapeboard digest email.
2. The card names the type of pick, such as 8-K MATERIAL EVENT, 8-K INSIDER FLAG, 10-Q SURPRISE or 13F PORTFOLIO SHIFT. It shows the company, a headline and a plain summary.
3. Click the card to open the filing page. There you can add the ticker to a watchlist, save a thesis note or share it.

The pick comes from the last seven days of 8-K, 10-Q and 10-K filings. The summary is written from the filing's own item codes with a fixed template, not by AI. The pick is refreshed about every 90 minutes.

Good to know

• Full-text search across every word of a company's filings is on the Terminal plan.
• Earnings call transcripts for the company appear on the same page under the timeline.
• To see one company's insider trades in a chart, use Insider activity or the Insider tab on Research.

If something doesn't work

• No company found: check the ticker. Funds and some foreign issuers file differently.
• Only 10 filings show: that is the free-account limit.
• The AI button does nothing: summaries need Pro.
• A row has no open icon: the filing has no readable document. Use the SEC.gov link.
