Options Flow

Options Flow flags contracts whose session volume runs over 2.5× their open interest — fresh positioning, not rolls — across the US options market over a rolling 24-hour window.

Options Flow surfaces contracts where today's volume runs more than 2.5× the open interest — fresh positioning, not a roll. Calls and puts. It refreshes as the detector (every 15 min during market hours) writes new flags and aged ones roll off after 24 hours.

How to use it

  1. The table loads the full day's flags, sort = Top score (composite of V/OI, premium size, and days-to-expiry) and limit = 100.
  2. Filter CALL / PUT / ALL from the toolbar. Symbol filter is substring (NVD matches NVDA).
  3. Sort alternatives: Top volume (raw contract volume) or Most recent.
  4. Hit the ⟳ button to force a re-pull. The list refreshes on any filter/sort change.

Read a row left to right: SYMBOL · TYPE · STRIKE · EXP · LAST · VOL · OI · V/OI · AGO — time since detection is minutes/hours during the session, "d" once it crosses a day.

How to read it

The V/OI ratio carries the signal. A 1.0 print is average churn. A 5.0+ on a short-dated contract is someone loading up. Watch for clusters of the same root across multiple shorts of the same hour — that's a position being built across strikes, not a retail potshot.

What it is not: it does not distinguish sweeps from blocks (both are flagged; the row carries no trade-side metadata), and it does not tell you buy-vs-sell side. Cross-reference with the tape if the side matters to your setup.

Limits

  • 2.5× volume/open-interest floor — contracts under it are invisible here.
  • 24-hour rolling window — yesterday's flag drops off.
  • Detector cadence: every 15 minutes during market hours; nearly everything lands after the open.
  • US-listed OPRA only.
  • Pre-market flags are sparse (volume is thin there); don't be alarmed by an empty 7am board.

Troubleshooting

  • Empty mid-session: broaden the filters (drop the symbol lock, switch to ALL). A truly silent feed is rare by lunch.
  • A known giant sweep missing: either its OI was large enough to hold the ratio under 2.5×, or it aged out of the 24h window.
  • 429 on refresh: rate limit — wait a minute. 403: your plan dropped to Free.
