Reg-SHO Threshold List
The Reg-SHO Threshold List shows every ticker currently on the SEC's threshold securities list — names where fails-to-deliver have exceeded 0.5% of shares outstanding for five consecutive settlement days. A historically strong tell that the short trade is getting over-extended.
The SEC's Reg-SHO threshold securities list is the regulatory tell. When a ticker's fails-to-deliver exceed 0.5% of its outstanding shares for five consecutive settlement days, it lands on the threshold list — the SEC is signaling that settlement is breaking down. Historically the threshold list captures the moment where the short trade starts running into structural problems that don't normally exist — the system is shuddering, and the squeeze is converging.
What it is

A ranked table of every threshold-listed ticker today, sorted by fail count + days-on-list. Each row shows the ticker, the cumulative fail count, days on the threshold list, the underlying SI %float, the days-to-cover, and a squeeze-score cross-reference badge.
When to use it
- Mid-week cross-reference: a threshold-listed ticker is a settlement-broken structure. The Squeeze Leaderboard cross-reference tells you whether the squeeze is converging HERE (a high squeeze score × threshold list = the perfect convergence).
- Long bias risk screen: don't short threshold names. The fails-to-deliver are exactly the institutional-inventory signal — the shorts are already fighting for shares.
- Halts surface dr》:dr cross-ref: threshold-listed tickers that spike intraday are at risk of a halt-resume — the SEC has been known to halt high-fail-positions for re-pricing.

Data source
SEC publishes the daily threshold securities list per exchange (NYSE, NASDAQ, BATS, ARCA, etc.) every settlement day at ~3 PM ET. Tapeboard's squeeze-threshold-list cron pulls these daily, aggregates across exchanges (a ticker threshold on multiple exchanges is more severe), and cross-references against the Squeeze Leaderboard. Stored in threshold_list table.
Pro tips
- Days-on-list > 5 is concerning. The SEC's Reg-SHO 10a-1 close-out rule requires broker-dealers to close out fails by the 6th day. A ticker persistent on the list through close-out is showing the close-out is not happening — short-sellers are unable to deliver the shares.
- Cross-reference: ticker on threshold list × ticker on Squeeze Leaderboard × 90%+ borrow fee = peak squeeze convergence.
- A threshold-list ticker that delivers a positive news catalyst the next session is the textbook squeeze ignition kernel.
