What you'll see
- Trading halts in progress — rows close-ordered: symbol, halt/reason code, time halted, resume time once the exchange announces it.
- What the codes mean —
- LULD: Limit Up / Limit Down — a pause after a big fast move (worst 5-minute stretch).
- T1: News pending. The story is coming; the halt is so nobody trades ahead unaware.
- T5: Regulation. Structure/regulatory issue — serious, uncommon.
- M: Market-wide circuit breaker (index halts after big crashes).
- Others: you'll see codes like T12, T2 from special factors — the row's reason field spells it out.
- Resume time once announced (some halts announce after an hour or when the day ends).
When to scan it
- You stared at a big mover on the scanner (guide) and want the reason it just froze.
- You're holding a position that got halted — this is the confirmation you want before you sell blind.
- A day like Aug 12th 2025: checking whether what looks like a glitch is actually a market-wide circuit breaker. (It was real.)
